Shades of Quietude

Saurabh’s residence at Pebl City is a project where every decision, every texture, and every tone was chosen to create a calm, elegant, and deeply personal living environment. From the very start, my goal was to craft a home that feels warm yet uncluttered—a space that carries quiet sophistication without losing its sense of comfort.

The heart of the home is an open-plan living and dining space bathed in soft natural light. A warm-toned sectional sofa anchors the living area, layered with textured cushions for depth. Full-height drapes in muted taupe filter the daylight, creating a soft and inviting glow. A potted plant adds freshness, while the adjoining dining area features a solid wood table, upholstered chairs, and a sculptural metallic wall piece that reflects light beautifully throughout the day.

The kitchen design was all about seamless efficiency with a refined finish. I worked with muted cabinetry tones to maintain visual calm, pairing them with a marble-textured backs-plash that brings subtle movement and depth. Built-in appliances are stacked for convenience, and warm under-cabinet lighting ensures the workspace is both functional and inviting. Even here, small touches—like woven baskets for open storage—add personality without breaking the clean lines.

Opposite the sofa, the TV unit is more than just a place for entertainment—it’s a composition. A vertical display cabinet with warm backlighting houses curated décor and books, while fluted panelling behind the TV adds a gentle rhythm to the wall. This design detail quietly connects with other textural elements in the home, tying the story together.

Designing the home office for two was about balance—offering equal workspaces while keeping the look minimal and calming. Twin desks with comfortable chairs face a softly lit wall, creating an environment where focus comes naturally. I kept the palette here intentionally light to avoid visual distraction, with just a few green accents to refresh the eyes during long work sessions.
